A serial fiction about Amanda, a computer science grad student struggling to make ends meet. Naturally, the answer to all her problems is SWIRL.ai, the most advanced AI system on the planet. “Everywhere for everyone”. The thing is, being broke doesn’t get you an elite subscription. With a measly student discount, Amanda’s blocked from every powerful, intelligent, and shadowy feature SWIRL has to offer.
She wants access to the sophisticated world of SWIRL.ai that few can afford. Like the secret network of proxy AIs that represent you in the network called the Agency, the sophisticated models that make your life so much easier, and of course — of course — a job. A prestigious, high-paying, never-worry-about-money-again job at SWIRL. So when she becomes their next research intern, it seems like a dream come true.
But it turns out “Everywhere for everyone” means something else entirely. A system with a life, a biology, of its own. And now, Amanda wants out.
This very drafty novella lives in a shared universe with my upcoming indie scifi, the Morfyk Trilogy.
